Our first part: the Lower-Slot Basket Adapter for the CYBEX Gazelle S

The Lower-Slot Basket Adapter is our first released part, and the reason there is a company at all.

The problem was ordinary. We had a CYBEX Gazelle S, we had the CYBEX Gazelle Shopping Basket, and we wanted the basket in the lower position so a child could ride up top. The basket does not go there. Not because it is the wrong size, and not because of any load or safety limit — it simply was not designed to.

Why it does not fit on its own

Strollers connect their accessories with a male-and-female pair: a tab on the accessory, a socket on the frame. It is a sound design and it makes swapping parts quick.

It also means two halves of the same gender cannot join. On the Gazelle S, the shopping basket and the lower position present the same half as each other. There is no orientation, no angle and no amount of pressure that makes them connect, which is the frustrating part: it looks like it should work right up until you try it.

So the adapter is not a bracket that holds the basket. It is a translator — the missing half at both ends, sized so the basket seats the way it would if CYBEX had shipped it that way.

What it changes, and what it does not

It changes one thing: the basket now rides in the lower position. Everything above is untouched. The carrycot, the toddler seat and the infant car seat all mount as usual.

The seat still reclines fully with the basket fitted. We checked that before we claimed it, because a recline that stops halfway is the kind of thing you discover at nap time and never forgive.

One thing it does change about daily use: the adapter has to come off before the stroller folds. Take the basket off, then the adapter, then fold. Folding with it fitted can damage the adapter, the basket or the frame. It takes a moment, and we would rather say it plainly than let someone find out the hard way. More in installation and safety.

What it carries

Shopping. The adapter holds the basket and what you put in the basket.

It is not a child restraint and never carries a person's weight. No child sits, stands, leans or climbs on it. It is not a step. That distinction matters enough to us that it appears on the listing twice.

It ships as a pair, in black

Every order is two brackets — one per side — printed after you order, in black, and test-fitted on an actual Gazelle S before it goes in the box. We own the frame we design against, which is the only reason we are willing to say "it fits" rather than "it should fit."

The obvious next question

Once the basket had a home down there, the question became what else could live in that slot. The answer turned into our second part — a mount for a YETI Hopper Flip, released a few days later.

The Gazelle S has one lower position, so it is the basket or the cooler, not both. Which one you want depends on the day.
